If you are traveling from elsewhere, we recommend flying into LaGuardia or Newark Airports and staying in Manhattan's Financial District. This will allow for easiest access to the Basilica and reception (a short taxi or Uber ride), as well as navigating the city for other things you may want to do while here. Once one of the nation’s busiest 19th-century trading ports, the Seaport District in Lower Manhattan is now one of the city’s most charming waterfront neighborhoods. Wander the cobblestone streets past historic ship-merchant buildings, take in sweeping views of the skyline and Brooklyn Bridge over the East River at Pier 17, and spend time browsing shops or grabbing a bite at one of the many restaurants and bars. Seaport District & Pier 17

Stone Street Historic District is a pedestrian-only cobblestone street in the Financial District filled with restaurants and bars offering lively outdoor dining. The night life hub dates back to the 1600s when it was home to the cities first breweries. Stone Street

At the intersection of Wall Street and Nassau Street sits one of Lower Manhattan’s most historic corners. Federal Hall National Memorial marks the site where George Washington was sworn in as the first President in 1789 and where the Bill of Rights was written. Just across the street is the New York Stock Exchange, the heart of the American financial system since 1792. And right outside stands the Fearless Girl statue, a bronze figure facing down the Exchange that’s become one of the city’s most photographed landmarks.

Wall Street Landmarks 

Brookfield Place is an upscale shopping and dining destination in Battery Park City, right on the Hudson River. Just outside, the Battery Park City Esplanade runs along the waterfront, offering scenic views of the Hudson River and the New Jersey skyline. It’s a great spot to shop, grab a bite, and take a relaxing stroll along the water. Restaurants &amp; Bars:P.J. Brookfield Place

The Oculus, the 9/11 Memorial reflecting pools, and One World Trade Center are all just steps from each other in Lower Manhattan, making for an easy stroll to take them all in. The Oculus is the striking, dove-shaped transit hub and shopping center designed by Santiago Calatrava. Nearby, the 9/11 Memorial’s twin reflecting pools mark the footprints of the original Twin Towers. And rising above it all is One World Trade Center, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. Take a walk through the plaza to see all three landmarks together.

Oculus World Trade Center

Lace up your shoes for a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, one of New York’s most iconic views. The pedestrian walkway stretches about 1.1 miles one way, roughly a 30-45 minute stroll. Start on the Manhattan side at Centre Street &amp; Park Row, near City Hall, and make your way across the East River with the skyline behind you. On the Brooklyn side, you’ll come down near DUMBO’s cobblestone streets, the perfect spot to grab a coffee or bite to eat after. You can return to the Financial District by foot over the bridge, taxi, or subway (A and C line).
